How to get a quote for a plastic part?

  1. Upload one or more 3D CAD files and 2D files on our Get a Quote page

  3. If you have samples, you can also express them to usdirectly. And attach parts description, assembly requirements, materials, colors, annual estimated quantity, etc., we will give you the best price based on the information you provide. Generally, we will provide a quote within 24 hours of receiving the inquiry. If a quote is delayed we will notify you as soon as possible.

What is the basic process for a new plastic project?

First, based on the drawings and related information you provide, we will comprehensively evaluate and provide you with a detailed quotation plan. If there are design flaws, we will provide professional optimization suggestions.

Secondly, after the order is confirmed, our engineers will provide you with a detailed DFM report, which includes the details of mold making and basic information of plastic part molding.

Third, during the mold design and manufacturing period, dedicated project engineers will track and update the mold progress report throughout the process.

Fourth, after the mold is completed, try the mold and sample first, conduct internal review and measurement, and if there are no problems, send the sample to the customer for evaluation.

If the sample fails, our team will actively find out the reasons and provide solutions and improvements, and provide a second sample to the customer for inspection to ensure that it meets the customer’s testing standards.

Finally, confirm packaging and other details with the customer and start mass injection molding production.

How do you manage projects?

We assign a sales manager and a project engineer to each project, who will be responsible for the entire process from project inception to delivery. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our engineers. They will serve you wholeheartedly to ensure that your project is successfully produced and delivered to you.

Who owns the mold?

Once a contract is signed with us, the mold is designed and manufactured specifically for your part, and the customer retains ownership of the mold. The customer can move the mold freely.

Can you quote based on pictures?

For some relatively simple products with simple structures, we can provide quotations based on photos, product dimensions, and weight. If the part structure is complex and you do not have a CAD design drawing, you can express the part to us and we can provide you with a quotation once the sample is received.

How can I ensure that my design will not be plagiarized or copied?

Our guarantee is as follows:

1. Our customers can sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with Attractive Plastics to ensure that we will not copy your design.

2. We are an OEM injection molding manufacturer and we have no channels to sell products in related categories.

3. For most projects, injection molded parts are only part of the product, a part of the entire product, and can’t be sold separately.

Can you design plastic products?

No, we generally only provide product auxiliary design, DFM, etc. If it is just a product concept, we recommend that you find a local design company to complete the design for you. If you have design drawings but are not sure whether the injection molding process is suitable, we can help you with part design modifications and optimization.

Do you have prototyping capabilities?

Yes, we have. We offer two manufacturing methods for commonly used prototypes of products: 3D printing and CNC machining. Delivery time is 2 to 7 days.

Can we choose any color for my plastic parts?

Yes, according to the pantone number or color sample you provide, we will provide the best color product sample based on the standard pantone color card or sample for your confirmation.

After submitting a quote request, how long will it take to get a quote?

Usually 1 to 3 days. If the project is particularly complex and has a large number of accessories, the quotation time will be appropriately extended.

What kind of trade terms can you do?

Trade terms we can do: EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, DDP.

What are your payment terms?

Mold payment term: T/T, 50% deposit with PO, samples approved 50% final payment.

Production payment term: T/T, 30% deposit with PO, balance term: 70% before parts shipment.

How quickly can I get my parts?

Each part is different and requires different quantities and requirements. Usually the mold making cycle is about 30 days, and the parts production cycle ranges from 10-30 days, depending on the order quantity. As for shipping time, air shipping from China to Europe or North America may take around 7 days. If shipped by sea, it may take anywhere from 10-30 days.

Can you provide products quality reports?

Yes, We provide COC reports, dimension reports, material reports (reach report, rohs report) and other additional documents upon request. Check out our quality page for more typical reports.

How do you provide after-sales service?

We provide the highest level of after-sales service. Before production, we compare with customers’ samples. If there are any quality problems with any plastic products we make, we will provide free after-sales service. If there are minor problems, we will re-make them. If you have any questions, please contact our after-sales service at any time.

What are types of injection mold tooling?

There are various types of plastic injection molds:

What file types do you support for quotations?

We accept 3D CAD files in STEP, STP, IGES, X_T and other formats, and 2D CAD files with reference dimensions and details in DWG and PDF formats. We will provide a quote based on the document information you provide.

Are there any size restrictions on the plastic parts you make?

The smallest size plastic part we make is: 1 mm*2.5 mm*2 mm, weighing 0.1 grams. The largest plastic part we produce is: 1m*0.6 m*0.3 m and weighs 3 KG. Whether it is a large or small plastic part, it poses a great challenge to the molding team.

How do I choose the right material for our plastic products or components? ​

The plastic parts’ material selection should be determined according to the use environment. If you have concerns in your plastic application material selection, hope contact our engineers, who can help select the material most suitable for your application while taking cost into consideration.

What is your minimum order quantity(MOQ)?

We don’t have a minimum order quantity requirement (MOQ). We can support you from prototype to low-mid- and high-volume injection molding production. Our engineers will provide you with the most suitable injection mold and molding solutions for your project.

How do you ensure the quality of the plastic parts you produce?

Our complete quality management system.

  1. Before production, the engineer will prepare a product inspection plan, which includes product appearance requirements, size requirements, assembly requirements, etc.
  2. Our QC will conduct inspections during production, and any problems will be reported back and solved at any time.
  3. After the production is completed, we will also conduct overall random inspections. If there are any problems, we will make corresponding solutions to ensure that you are satisfied after receiving the goods.

If we change the part design, can the mold be modified?

Yed, Many times design modifications are unavoidable. We will carefully evaluate with the customer and consider the feasibility and cost of modifications. Of course, it is best to avoid modifications as much as possible.

Can you insert molding and overmolding?

Insert molding and overmolding are our strengths, especially for insert molding magnets and overmolding magnets, we have rich experience. Because magnets will demagnetize at high temperatures and are easily broken. This is a major test for mold designers. Once the mold is poorly designed, the entire mold may face the possibility of being scrapped.

What types of manufacturing processes can you provide?

Can you provide post molding operation like painting, plating, and assembly?

We provide post-molding operations services, including assembly, electroplating, spray painting, printing (silk screen printing, pad printing, heat transfer printing), hot stamping, laser etching, etc. We are your one-stop injection molding manufacturer.

Can you make plastic products of any material?

How much does an injection mold tooling cost?

Each project is special and unique, and mold cost is based on the complexity of the part construction. Costs range from $1,000 to hundreds of thousands of dollars depending on the complexity of the mold. An accurate quote requires comprehensive information about the product provided by the customer. Several main aspects that determine the cost of molds: product structure, plastic material, surface finish, order quantity, tolerances, mold standards (HASCO, DME, LKM). Our engineers will develop the most suitable injection molding solution and quote for your project based on your requirements and budget.

What are lead times to build a injection mold?

A injection mold making lead time depends on the complexity of the part, typical mold lead time ranges from 4-5 weeks, but can be completed up to 20 days in advance based on customer requirements.

How much does it cost for a plastic part?

The cost of any plastic part depends on weight, size, shape, structural complexity. Generally, the cost of small batch production is higher because the installation, disassembly and preparation of the mold take up a lot of costs. Therefore, larger production volumes tend to spread the cost of more preparation work, making the cost per part lower.

How do you ensure the life of the mold?

SPI divides plastic molds into 5 levels, from class 101 to class 105. The mold life ranges from 50,000, 100,000, 500,000 to 1 million times. Mold life is related to the grade of mold steel, mold design, maintenance and upkeep, etc. The selection of the correct injection mold steel should be based on the plastic material type, part surface requirements and potential order quantity.
The quality of the mold determines the quality of the plastic parts. Any plastic molds which we make are repaired and maintained free of charge for life to ensure that the plastic parts meet customer requirements. For severely worn molds, we will replace mold accessories and mold inserts as appropriate to better serve customers.
